In order to know where your organization's employee pay rates
stand in relation to your competitors, you must have access to reliable data on their
compensation practices. P & A can assist your firm in compiling meaningful survey data
to use in developing organizational pay and benefits programs.
Compensation surveys generally solicit data in some or all of the
following categories:
- pay rates for a series of "benchmark" jobs common to many employers for use in
developing an overall organizational pay structure
- pay rates for special job categories for which special pay rates may be necessary due to
a tight supply of qualified employees
- employee benefits plans
- general pay policies and practices, covering such actions as hiring, promotions, annual
increases, and overtime pay
- general personnel policies and conditions of employment, such as work hours, initial
hire periods, and leaves of absence
- general organizational profile data, for use in determining the overall compatibility of
the survey data.
